The surgery is rarely what goes wrong. What goes wrong is that six vendors hold six pieces of your trip, none of them talk to each other, and when a date moves you are the one making the phone calls — from a hotel room, in a country you do not know, recovering from an operation.
Why we built it
Medical expertise is not spread evenly, and it never has been. One country ends up with the deepest living-donor transplant volumes because of how its law developed; another owns implant dentistry because of where its dental schools sit; a third leads on egg donation purely because its legal framework permits what others do not. None of this is secret — it is just invisible unless you already work in the field.
So the patient with a difficult decision is left comparing ten hospital websites, quotes over WhatsApp and flights booked blind, with no way to tell whether the place that markets hardest is the place that does the operation best.
The traditional answer is a medical tourism agency taking thirty to forty percent to be the switchboard — usually one that sells whichever country it has contracts in. That is an enormous price for coordination, and it puts the agency's interest between you and the surgeon.
Medifisys replaces the switchboard with software. The hospitals list directly, the prices are theirs, the reviews come only from people who actually travelled, and the commission is twelve percent of the treatment line — nothing on your flights, your room, your equipment or your medicines. Because we hold no country's contract, we have no reason to point you at one.
And it is deliberately not one country's story. India is cheapest for cardiac and transplant work; Hungary and Türkiye own dental; Spain leads on egg donation because of its legal framework; Poland matters because an EU patient keeps EU legal rights; New York is on the list precisely so a surgeon there can tell you your case does not need New York. A network that only sold one destination would have to pretend that destination was always the right answer.

How a hospital gets listed
Three documents, every time, regardless of how large or well-known the institution is.

Accreditation, verified at source
Checked against the issuing body's own public register and re-verified annually — JCI globally, NABH in India, Temos in Europe, ACHS in Australia, COHSASA in Southern Africa. A lapse removes the badge automatically and pauses any paid placement.

Volume by specialty
How many of each listed procedure the institution and the named surgeon actually performed last year. A hospital that will not share this does not get listed, however famous it is.

A written package definition
Exactly what the price covers and what it does not, in language a patient can hold them to. This is the document that stops the bill growing after admission.
Where our responsibility ends
Medifisys is a booking and coordination platform. Clinical care is provided by the treating hospital and surgeon, who hold the clinical responsibility, the consent process and the regulatory obligations that come with it.
We do not store medical records. They pass from you to the hospital directly. That is not a limitation we are apologising for — it is a deliberate design decision that keeps a marketplace out of the business of holding clinical data it has no business holding.
Equipment certification and pharmacy licensing sit with the vendors. We verify the licence exists and is current before a vendor can list, and we remove them when it lapses.
