The questions people actually ask.

Including the uncomfortable ones about liability and complications, which is where most platforms in this category go quiet.

Money

When am I actually charged?

Never by Medifisys. Sending a request costs nothing and commits you to nothing. The hospital reviews your request, confirms the package price in writing, and then invoices you directly on its own terms. Travel and products are likewise arranged and paid with the provider.

What if the hospital quotes a different price than the listing?

You owe nothing and simply decline. Partner hospitals confirm the package price in writing against your records before you travel; because you have paid nothing at that point, walking away costs you only the time it took to ask.

What is not included in the procedure price?

Flights, accommodation, ground transfers, visa fees, and treatment for complications arising from a condition you did not disclose at assessment. Every listing spells out its inclusions; anything absent from that list is quoted separately before you commit.

What commission does Medifisys take?

Twelve percent of the treatment line, paid by the hospital, not added to your price. We take nothing from flights or accommodation, and twelve to eighteen percent from equipment and medicine vendors. Traditional agencies take thirty to forty percent of everything, and typically only sell the countries they hold contracts in.

Can I get a refund?

In full, any time before the hospital confirms your date in writing. After that the hospital's own cancellation terms apply and are shown on your journey page. Travel and product items follow each vendor's published policy.

Safety and quality

How are hospitals selected?

Three things, every time: accreditation verified against the issuing body's register, procedure volumes by specialty for the institution and the named surgeon, and a written package definition. Any hospital unwilling to provide all three is not listed, regardless of reputation.

Are the reviews real?

A review can only be written against a completed booking made through Medifisys. That is why there are fewer here than on aggregator sites. We do not remove, reorder or hide reviews; hospitals can only respond to them.

What happens if there is a complication?

The treating hospital manages it clinically — that is their responsibility and it does not transfer to us. Practically, your coordinator handles the logistics: extending accommodation, rebooking flights, arranging an attendant, and keeping your family informed. Several partners publish a written complication clause on their quotation.

Who is liable if something goes wrong?

The treating hospital and surgeon, under the law of the country where treatment happens. Medifisys facilitates the booking and holds the funds; we do not practise medicine and cannot accept clinical liability. This is stated plainly rather than buried, because you should factor it into your decision.

Records, visas and travel

Do you hold my medical records?

No. Your records go from you to the hospital directly. Medifisys never stores, transmits or processes clinical data. What we hold is your account, your bookings and the messages on your journey timeline.

Will I get a visa letter?

Yes, where the destination requires one. Your coordinator requests the invitation letter from the hospital as soon as your records are reviewed, and it is attached to your booking as well as emailed.

Can someone travel with me?

Most partners include an attendant bed on the ward, and the accommodation we list is chosen for having a second bed. Add your companion's flight to the same cart so the dates move together if the hospital reschedules.

What if my date moves?

Everything in the booking moves as one. That is the main reason to book it together rather than assembling it across five websites — a single date change otherwise means five separate renegotiations, several of them non-refundable.

Equipment and medicines

How are products recommended to me?

Vendors tag products against the procedure categories they genuinely suit, and the cart surfaces matches for your booking. Recommendations are matched clinically, not by margin, and irrelevant tagging gets a vendor's product removed.

Can I buy prescription medicines?

Only against your discharge prescription, verified by the dispensing pharmacist. Traditional preparations — Ayurvedic, Unani, homeopathic — are not prescription-controlled but are not inert either: several interact with anticoagulants and immunosuppressants, so show your full list to the treating surgeon.

Can I take medicines home with me?

Check your own country's import rules before ordering a quantity you intend to carry. Some preparations that are freely sold at the destination are restricted at your border, and that is your border's rule, not ours.

Your account

I forgot my password.

Use the reset link on the sign-in page. We email a link that works once and expires in 45 minutes, and setting a new password signs you out on every other device. If the email does not arrive, check spam — and note that we give the same response whether or not an address has an account, because confirming that someone is registered on a healthcare platform is itself disclosure.

How do I delete my account?

Email privacy@medifisys.com and we action it within thirty days. Bookings with a completed payment are retained in anonymised form for the period our payment processors and tax obligations require, then destroyed.
